Alma and her jazzy little snow girl.
I am starting this blog post with our adorable snow people Make and Take.

Elena and Kathren
Kathren sponsored this fabulous Make and Take. She not only brought everything possible to make the little people, but also shared all her knowledge on how to get the best snow person possible.

Meet our new member Tricia, going home happy with her very sophisticated snow man.

Here’s Alma and another new member, Marji, having fun making their snow people.

We had so many snow people, that we created a cute little village.  Check out the slide show to see all of these fascinating people in their winter best.

Elena created this unbelievable purse with duck tape.  Wait…what???
That’s right!  Duck Tape!!

Denise made this adorable basket from a peat pot.
You know, something you might normally use to grow a seedling.  Not Denise, she found another clever use for a peat pot.IMG_0892
Alma created some fun cards.

This beautiful art piece started out as plain wood and was transformed by Alma.  Gorgeous!

Alma went on an art retreat with some of her close girlfriends.  They each made tags with a picture of themselves.  When all the tags were put together, they each ended up with an awesome tag book like this.  What a cool keepsake of a memorable occasion.

Cynthia recently took a class from Julie Nutting.  It was a tag class where she learned how to make these sweet little girls.  Each girl is just a little different and oh so precious.

She was having so much fun with her girls that she decided to make a canvas.  These are her cute little brave girls.

Kat took the same class with Cynthia and here are her tags.

This month’s kit includes Christmas papers from Graphic 45.  Distress Stickles from Ranger, a glitter pen, wooden letters from Kaisercraft and several different glittery ribbon trims.

Special thanks to our friend Debby for bringing a big bag full of Copic Markers for all of us to share.  Each of us picked out four markers.
You are so so generous!  Thanks again Deb.

Next month is our Holiday Celebration and Meetup
We will not be sharing projects, however we will still have a Make and Take and a Kit.  This is a regular scheduled meeting and is considered one of the three meetings for this cycle.
Don’t forget to bring:
  • White Elephant gift
  • Potluck item
  • Camera
Things to remember:
  • DATE AND LOCATION CHANGE IN DECEMBER TO DECEMBER 14TH, AT ALICIA'S HOUSE IN RANCHO PENASQUITOS. (You should have received her address in an email.)

Gee Gee’s Book Club

This cycle included a swap of tags with our picture and a little know personal fact.  We had a ton of fun with this swap.

Goodness!  We were so busy!  Here are pictures of our canvas swap.  Each month someone adds something new and passes their canvas to the next person.  It’s really fun to see what everyone does.

IMG_0844Terri created this inspirational piece.  That’s a shattered trophy that she used as her embellishment. Thought provoking!

Glenna has also been busy creating beautiful canvases.  Here’s one of HOPE.  And, what an awesome idea to add a dress form to a canvas.  The background is from a paper bag.  Cool!

IMG_0868Lola never ceases to amaze us with her creativity.  She made both of these fabulously crazy dolls from found items.  You can’t stop looking at them.  Each time, you will see something you didn’t see before.

That’s right!  Another fabulous creation from Lola.

It’s a double sided Halloween banner.

Talk about getting creative!  Nanci made this beautiful scrapbook specifically for book club.  She is adding items from our swaps, such as the dress form swap.  She even labeled the pages.  I love it and I want it.

This month’s kit included a Configuration from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology line.  We also received a bunch of fun papers, ribbons and a baggie full of buttons and fun embellishments.

Here’s another clever idea of Elena’s.  Some of us actually made clothes for our doll. Can’t have a naked doll hanging around!

We had so much fun playing with our little canvases.  Most of us stuck to the basic idea that Elena presented, and still, look at all the different interpretations.  A couple of other members stepped way outside the box and created adorableness.  With only 30 minutes to create and a whole bunch of leaves, I think they are all fabulous.

Gentle Reminder of items you may want to bring next month:

  • White Elephant Gift Exchange – Make it awesome!
  • Canvas Swap
  • Current book is Mixed and Stitched by Jen Osborn
  • Tool kit, including scissors, glue, a pen or pencil.
    • A snack to share
    • Camera

    Things to remember:

    • December is the 4th month of a 4-month cycle and the meeting is Thursday, December 1st, at 6:30, at Gee Gee's Stamp 'n' Stuff.
