Cool Scrapbook Stuff Book Club

IMG_0719

Kathren started this fun night off with a beautiful collage that she made using parts of a monthly kit.  The dress is a lovely example of using Goose Bumps on a stamp and making the impression on paper.  The Goose Bumps acts as a resist when ink is added.

Here’s another example of Goose Bumps using a stencil.

Cute cards by Kathren.

Cynthia made this beautiful She Art canvas.  Look at the colors!

She’s so fashionable!

IMG_0668

Cynthia also created this fabulous birdie canvas.  She said this is the canvas where she puts her left over paint when she working on other projects.

She painted the bird on top of the leftovers.  Cool!

Oh yes, we have all different forms of art in our Book Club.  Our guest Jesse created this masterpiece.  All of us were in awe of her art form…kind of like honored to be in the same room!

Cyndi’s been busy with the Girl Scouts and look at the pretty frames they made with paint and embellishments.

Wow!  Judy stepped out of her box and created an awesome art journal.  Each page is made by using a different mixed media technique.  Completely ready for added art.

Here is our Make and Take for this month.  One of my personal favorites!  I just love the “Sweet”ness of it!  It was created on a canvas tag, with fabric pieces, glass glitter, pom poms, “cheap” tinsel, and if you look close, you can see an adorable glass flower pin.

Check it out!  Here is our loot for this month.  It’s a wonderful kit full of fun goodies.  We received a package of tissue paper by Cloud 9 Designs, canvas tags from Maya Road, glittered tulle, baby pom poms and some little acrylic flowers.

Thank you Cyndi, for the yummy chips and corn salsa!

Creating Outside the Book at Gee Gee’s

IMG_0661Prior to our Book Club meeting, Kat and Elena shared a bowl of soup and an order of crispy mac and cheese with BACON.  Yummy!

Cynthia created this adorable She Art canvas.

IMG_0668

OMGosh, what a cutie this little birdie canvas is…made by Cynthia.  Love the colors!

 IMG_0669

Cynthia took a lesson using Twinkling H2O’s.  Here is a fun journal page based on a Marah Johnson project.

 IMG_0670

What a cute way to use the kit from last month.  Kam wowed us with this adorable chick.  The chick is a cookie cutter and she filled with flowers making it a very dimensional canvas.

IMG_0671

Kam took a class from Julie Nutting and learned how to make these adorable little girl tags.

IMG_0672

Debby used one of her many Cricut machines to make this elaborate project with her name.  Beautiful!

IMG_0674 IMG_0673

Wow!  Last month, we received a floppy disk holder in our kit.  Sherry made this fabulously fun Shadow Box.

How clever is that!

IMG_0675 Pam has a brand new sewing machine, but she made this awesome piece by hand.  She added it as an embellishment to her Book Club tote bag.

IMG_0676

Pam spent some time learning about transferring images to fabric.  Here is a picture that she manipulated on the computer, printed it out and transferred it to the fabric.

 IMG_0677

Then she tried transferring patterned paper on to fabric.  Cool!

Glenna also made this gorgeous mixed media journal with Lytle Scrapper.  This photo is of the front and back of the journal.

Here are a couple of pages on the inside of Glenna’s journal.

Glenna made all of these great scrapbook pages.

Here’s where she documented her photo of the day challenge.  That’s really cool!

Look at those beautiful dogs!

Glenna was a busy girl this month.

Kat made this cute little collage canvas.

 IMG_0691

At a class with Marah Johnson, Kat learned how to make this journal page using Twinkling H2O’s, and some collage embellishments.

IMG_0692

After the class she was so excited about the Twinks that she shared the techniques with a couple of girlfriends and made another page.

IMG_0694 IMG_0693

Kristal made several of these cool Gift Card Holders for some of her friends.

 IMG_0695

At Book Club, Elena gave us tote bags to be used each month for our kits.  Our instruction was to feel free to decorate our bags any way we might like.  Keeping the Suzi Blu theme for the quarter in mind, this is the front of Kristal's bag.  It is embellished with lots of dimensional flowers and an awesome hand painted, by Kristal, mixed media girl.

IMG_0696

This is the back of Kristal’s bag.  She used ICE Resin to collage pieces of ephemera.

IMG_0698

Whoo Hoo!  Kristal made this journal using a Suzi Blu stamp on the cover.  This journal is strictly for Suzi Blu art.  Great idea!
