Debby made framed wall art from the stick pins she received in our recent stick pin swap.  What a clever idea!

 

Isn't Kathren a pretty princess!  It was her birthday and we wanted to give her some love.

 

We celebrated the right way...with cupcakes and cake made by Alma. 

A wonderful picture of almost all the lovely ladies in our awesome book club, and yes, we did eat all those cupcakes.  Uh huh!  You betcha!

Debby made some sweet ATC's and,

this fabulous Configurations art.  The shadow box is from the new Tim Holtz line.  She did such a great job.  Check out all the neat little goodies.

 

 

 

 

A little bit of dark art from Kat.

 

Last month Cynthia gave us these cute little ATC's so that we could embellish them and bring them back to share with each other.  Here are two of them.

 

Someone has actually been scrapbooking!!  Danette created these stunning pages.  She is very proud of her beautiful family and does a great job showcasing their pictures in her scrapbooking.

 

With a little help from her friends, Elena made this lovely copper and beaded bracelet.

 

What a little cutie this purse is!

This was our Make and Take for the night.  Canvas, Tattered Angels, ribbon, thread, and bam, you have an adorable little purse.

 

Cynthia is serious about following the instructions...

Stand back, hold your mouth just like so,

and then spray.  Yay!!!   Success!

Our kit consisted of coordinating October Afternoon papers, a fleur de lis punch, blue glitter, a bunch of pretty buttons, and Stick and Stay Permanent Spray by CC International.

Things to remember:

• Next meeting is the 2nd month of a 3 month cycle and is scheduled for Wednesday, June 15, at 6:30 p.m., at Cool Scrapbook Stuff in Poway.

• June 2nd is the meeting with Gee Gee's book club.  We will be meeting at the Boys and Girls Club in Carlsbad.  Fran Valera will be teaching Resin Art.  You won't want to miss this.
• June 12 is our Book Club Crop.  Bring your studio and do some art.  Bring your shoppin' shoes.  Bring food to share.

Creating Outside the Box at Gee Gee's

Gee Gee's is a new location for our Book Club.  We are super excited about being here.  Gayle and Linda welcomed us with open arms and are awesome.  We are looking forward to getting to know them better.

 

Suzi Blu was our special guest this month.  She actually provided our make and take, which is a Suzi Art ATC.  She brought all her stamps and each of us went home armed with lots of great stamped pictures to play with and create something awesome.

 

 

Suzi and Elena being cute for the camera.  Elena is showing us the Suzi art that she made for her Mom for Mother's Day.  It kind of looks like Elena. 

We had an ATC swap this month.  We swapped letters that spelled the words Love is Life.  Here are a few of the letters we produced. 

Glenna created a beautiful collage based on our book club kit from a few months ago.

Kat painted, penciled and watercolored these Suzi Art canvas tags using Faber Castell products.

 

How cute is this?  Glenna made these embellished dress forms from a Tim Holtz die-cut.  It's the inspiration for our next swap. 

A closer look!

Sheila recently attended the 5-year anniversary party for Charity Wings.  She gifted each guest with a handmade wine journal.  What a great idea!

Here's are kit for this month.  A sheet of plexi-glass, Beacon's Fast Finish Decoupage, Dew Drops from The Rubber Café, a bottle of Luminarte Radiant Rain Color Concentrate, by Creative Imaginations a Torte Tin, sheets of wallpaper, some ribbon and embellies.

• Pick out a photo that you would like to use in a piece of resin art and email it to Kat.  I will be sending it to Fran so that she can size it.

• We are doing a dress-form swap that will be due in September.  We will be die-cutting the dress forms at the June meeting.  Bring chip board or whatever you want to use for your die-cuts.

This is Gee Gee's Book Club's regular meeting night.  Your cost is as usual.
