Cool Scrapbook Stuff Book Club - May

A continuation of our Circle Journal. Check out some of the work these ladies do. Every month they can't wait to see what their new page looks like and says.

Welcome to our newest member Denise.

We are delighted that you have joined our club and can't wait to get to know you better.

This is the I in Charity Wings.

Kathren made this gorgeous repurposed cigar box.

Here is the embellished inside of the box.

Debby made framed wall art from the stick pins she received in our recent stick pin swap. What a clever idea!

Isn't Kathren a pretty princess! It was her birthday and we wanted to give her some love.

We celebrated the right way...with cupcakes and cake made by Alma.

A wonderful picture of almost all the lovely ladies in our awesome book club, and yes, we did eat all those cupcakes. Uh huh! You betcha!

YAY!! Happy Birthday!

Debby made some sweet ATC's and,

this fabulous Configurations art. The shadow box is from the new Tim Holtz line. She did such a great job. Check out all the neat little goodies.

A little bit of dark art from Kat.

Last month Cynthia gave us these cute little ATC's so that we could embellish them and bring them back to share with each other. Here are two of them.

Someone has actually been scrapbooking!! Danette created these stunning pages. She is very proud of her beautiful family and does a great job showcasing their pictures in her scrapbooking.

With a little help from her friends, Elena made this lovely copper and beaded bracelet.

What a little cutie this purse is!

This was our Make and Take for the night. Canvas, Tattered Angels, ribbon, thread, and bam, you have an adorable little purse.

Cynthia is serious about following the instructions...

Stand back, hold your mouth just like so,

and then spray. Yay!!! Success!

Denise is working the Tattered angels and is ready to start sewing.

Our kit consisted of coordinating October Afternoon papers, a fleur de lis punch, blue glitter, a bunch of pretty buttons, and Stick and Stay Permanent Spray by CC International.

Things to remember:

Next meeting is the 2nd month of a 3 month cycle and is scheduled for Wednesday, June 15, at 6:30 p.m., at Cool Scrapbook Stuff in Poway.
Here are the people in the swap: Cyndi, Peggie, Danette, Alma, Fern, Debby, Gaye, Alicia, Kathren, Cynthia, Kat, Elena, Judy and Denise.
June 2nd is the meeting with Gee Gee's book club. We will be meeting at the Boys and Girls Club in Carlsbad. Fran Valera will be teaching Resin Art. You won't want to miss this.
June 12 is our Book Club Crop. Bring your studio and do some art. Bring your shoppin' shoes. Bring food to share.

Love the picture of all of us celebrating Kathren's birthday!
Thanks for taking a picture of everything in our kit this month. Last month I put everything away right away and (I'm embarrassed to admit this) I forgot what exactly was in the kit!

This is a club that's social, fun, and inspiring! Meet other crafters that love crafting as much as you. Learn what happening in the crafting world.

Here's how it works:

* It's based on a 3 month series: Club is $13 per mo for the series of 3 months.

* Club meets once a month, on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, from 6:30-8:30.

* There is an optional book that you can purchase that will be our inspiration for crafting for that cycle.

* We will also do a fun make-and-take.

* Special guest speaker from the crafting industry each cycle.

* One free crop per cycle for Book Club members and 1 guest.

This social Book Club is geared towards the mixed media enthusiast, however, any crafting is appreciated. We love to create art and share it. The inspiration and support is amazing.
Here is how it works:

Book Club is based on a 4 month cycle: Book Club is $80 for the series of 4 months, or $20 per month with the commitment of 4 months.

Book Club meets at Gee Gee's in Carlsbad on the first Thursday of every month, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

There is an optional book that you can purchase that will be our inspiration for crafting for that cycle.

Each meeting you will receive a kit based on something from the book and you can take it home and create your art. The following month you can bring your project for everyone to ooh and ahh over!

Each meeting we will do a make-and-take.

Each cycle we will have an industry guest speaker.

Each cycle we will have a free crop.

The fee is $80 for a 4-month cycle. If you can't make it to a meeting, you will receive your kit the following month, unless other arrangements can be made. You can pay monthly, however, you are obligated to purchase all four classes in a cycle.
