Jenny Doh was our very special guest. Jenny, who you may remember as the Editor In Chief and Director of Publication for Stampington & Company magazines, is now the owner of Creschendoh.com. She writes books and has her hands in many projects all the time.
Jenny shared some of the collaborations, and behind the scenes, of putting together an incredible book like Creative Pilgrimage. That might explain why everyone is holding the book. It’s the book we selected for this quarter of book club…and, we all wanted her autograph.
Jenny also gave us some incredible information about her chosen charity, Project Home Ec Fundraiser, inspired by Sheena Matheiken's The Uniform Project (www.theuniformproject.com), which is raising money for Give.Water.org. The is such a unique and Brave endeavor. Jenny and others are wearing the same dress for a year. Ok, doesn’t that make you want to go to her website to read more! I checked the website today and they are at $675. Her goal is to raise $5,000 this year. Go here and check out this wonderful charity and don’t miss all the fabulous ways Jenny wears her dress. Go here to donate and learn more about Give.Water.org.
Cynthia sharing something wildly funny with Anne and Jenny.
Elena and Jenny
We were given a front row seat to Jenny’s beautiful crochet necklace. Some of us learned how to crochet for the first time. Others actually learned how to do the flower. Her ideas on what one can do with this necklace are innumerable. Thankfully she shared her YouTube video with us, which will make life much easier for this beginner.
Elena loves to prepare our kits. Every month we receive a kit of goodies. Some of the ladies are steadfast about creating something beautiful with the kit to share at the next meeting. Others add the kit into their stash and use it when the need arises. This month’s kit included a “lovely” 8”x10” canvas board, Perfect Pearls and a brush by Ranger, and several other pretty adornments. I can’t wait to see what these wonderfully talented ladies do with their kit this month. You may be interested in this step by step technique for using Perfect Pearls.
Flor Larios painted this pretty girl and donated it to Charity Wings for Elena’s booth at CHA.
Laura Bray created this painted fabric winged heart. Also a lovely donation!
This was made by Peggie. She used a kit from a previous month to put together this adorable valentine centerpiece.
This awesome collage was something fun that Gaye brought in to share.
This is a page from our journal swap. Gaye had Denise’s journal and this was the beautiful page she made for her.
Simple and clean…beautiful collage by Gaye.
Denise has been busy creating mini photo albums.
Here is a cute Halloween book.
And, here is a “What I Love About You” mini album for her cutie patootie son.
Kat’s results from taking Traci Bautista’s class, Doodles Unleashed, which is a collaboration with a free online series of workshops by Strathmore.
First create a page of doodles. Then cut the page up into pieces. This example shows the page cut to ATC size. They could be cut for cards or as ephemera for other art projects
Create a doodle page and then add a Glam Girl. Check out Traci’s blog and new book, Doodles Unleased.
OMGoodness, this is a fabulous custom Collage by Alma for her Mom and Dad’s 50th Wedding Anniversary. Awesome keepsake!
Every school teacher should have one of these adorable handmade baskets. This one was lovingly created by Alicia. Look at the hand-stitching all the way around.
Tricia made this sparkly banner for a party at her home. It says “Be Mine”. The details are so creative and wonderful.
We love the pin wheels…more party embellishments by Tricia.
It’s a “STUFF” box beautifully made by Kathren. Who doesn’t need one of these! Why didn’t I think of that!
This sweet pretty little wall hanging was designed and created by Kathren. The transfer picture is of her grandmother.
Awwe! Don’t you just love owls! Check out Cynthia’s cutie owl. Lots of lovely detail.
