Cool Scrapbook Stuff - Book Club

We had a full house this month with all our members in attendance.  I think everyone will agree, it was crazy fun!

The Circle Journal Swap was such a success last cycle that we decided to extend it through this cycle.  Everyone is 100% engaged in the swap and the pages are so awesome that each person seems to be thrilled with their book.  Every month we get so excited to see and touch and enjoy our book.  Then in a flash, it's gone again into another set of artistic hands...and because of the love and respect we know our fabulous little book is given, we are happy to let it go, and begin the process of eager excitement once again.

This month's kit included beautiful papers from the My Little Yellow Bicycle Twig collection, some matching fibers, an adorable canvas banner and an Anna Griffin Journal and pen.  What perfect papers for a boy project!

The Journal was inspired by our new book, Stories in Hand, Over 900 questions to help you tell your life story, by Jessica Sprague.  Some of the questions are for you to answer, and other questions are for you to ask your parents, siblings and grandparents, etc.

We discussed not only journaling interesting information about our lives, but also adding pictures, collage, doodling, painting, etc..

DSC04836We received a super special Fairy Fly-By from Cynthia.  Included in our gift were papers from the Recollections line, papers from the Core'dinations line and a package of large banner letters.  We also received an idea sheet on techniques to use with the "Sand it, Tear it, Emboss it, Love it" Core'dinations papers.  What an extra treat!  Thank you Cynthia.

And a huge thank you to Alicia for bringing the nutty snacks, which went well with the wine from Alma.  Food is always an appreciated addition to any girlfriend gathering, especially when scrapbooking is involved.

Alicia created this clever chipboard album to hold favorite ideas, and techniques.  It was made with blank chipboard pages, fabriano paper pages, and scrapbook paper pages.

Danette created a combo album for Black, White and Crop and Royal Slumber Crop.  Every adorable page is made with the theme of black, white and green.

Peggy shared her wonderful birdhouse made with scrapbook papers, pearls, lace, and a sweet little nest of bird eggs.

We may be needing a class Peggy.

Cynthia is in an ATC swap with the Urban Barn Book Club, and has a new found passion for ATC's.  How wonderful that she discovered this awesome shadow box that fits her ATC collection perfectly.  A lovely treasure for her wall!

I spy an Elena Mermaid!

Speaking of Elena, jump over to www.therubbercafe.com to purchase a new stamp set, created exclusively for Charity Wings by Candy Rosenberg.  The stamps are a unique Steampunk theme that you definitely will want to have in your collection.

The make and take was learning how to make custom stick pins.  They can be used in layouts, journals, as hat pins, in corsages, broaches, etc.  Ultimately, we were so enamored with the pretty little pins that everyone of us decided we should do a stick pin swap.

Teaser:  Next month, you may want to bring your Copics markers.  Hint:  Be sure to put your name on them.
